Long haul flights are brutal even in the best conditions. I hate arriving exhausted and puffy if I don’t sleep and take care of myself in a specific way. I consistently travel on a 10 hour flight and the first few were rough, so I have perfected how to survive comfortably on these incredibly long travel days with some of my ride-or-die products.
Carry-On Duffel Bag
I have been the biggest fan of this duffel for over 6 years! I have brought it as my primary suitcase, a carry-on, and it even works as a personal item as it fits underneath airline seats. The design is genius with the most intuitive organization concepts.
Travel Wallet
This wallet is the perfect size to hold your passport, boarding pass, and any cards and cash you want to carry with you.
Sound Cancelling Headphones
I have tried EVERY pair of noise cancelling headphones on the market (Bose, Sonos, I even returned my Airpods Max) and these are by far the most comfortable and the best sound quality. The batttery life lasted me two full 10 hour flights and they charge fully so fast.
Quilted Pouch
I’ll start by saying I have three of these. They are the perfect size and the quilting adds a nice padding and protection to your items without adding bulk.
Pill Organizer
This pill organizer is the perfect compact size and can fit so many different meds. The clasp is magnetic and keeps everything secure.
TSA Approved 1L Liquid Bag
If you are traveling outside of the U.S. then this is a must. It’s TSA approved and bigger and better quality than the bags they give out. This way you are not rushing in the security line to pack your liquids.
Sleep Mask
A sleep mask is an absolute must for me for a long haul flight. Sleep is key and this eye mask completely blacks everything out and has a velcro back to adjust to how tight you want it. I like it extra tight.
IPad
Among it’s many uses off the plane,this is my main form of entertainment on long flights. I like to save Netflix and HBO Shows, YouTube videos, and Kindle books before flights so I have a curated list of things to watch/read and look forward to while I am not sleeping. I also hate fiddling with the wire/headphones to plug into the airline’s screen so this seems simpler to me.
Airplane Pillow
I am SO particular about airplane pillows and the bulky neck supports and standard airplane pillows do not cut it. This one is great any seat position you are in whether its window/aisle or lie down flat beds. You can also compress it so it flattens to put in your bag. Side note: off the airplane this is a great pillow if you are a side sleeper.
Portable Charger
This charger is an absolute powerhouse. I hate bringing my long wires to charge my devices on the plane so I just use this little fellow with one short USB iPhone charger wire and one short USB-C charger and I am set until I unpack my big bag.
Oversized Cashmere Scarf
Cold? Scarf. Spill on your shirt? Scarf. Neck Support? Fold up the scarf! I use this as a shawl, blanket, coverup, and pillow. It’s by far the most versatile travel accessory I own. This cashmere one always goes on sale and it stays so soft and luxurious.
Electrolyte Tablets
I will rave about these to anyone who will listen. They were a hit at my bachelorette party because they immediately rebalance your electrolytes and have you feelings hydrated. They are so portable and don’t have that gross salty taste that so many alternatives have.
Micro Current Device
I always get super puffy on long hauls so I use this right before we land so I am looking snatched and contoured
Leave On Face Mask
She went viral for a reason. I tried a sample on one of my last long hauls and was SOLD. I put it on before going to sleep and I woke up with glassy/perfectly hydrated skin.
Lip Mask
Another viral item for a reason. I slather this on after my mask and I don’t need to reapply the entire flight.
Travel/Waterless Toothbrush
Never use the sink water on airplanes! I always wanted to brush my teeth but knew the water in the restroom was not sanitary so I was thrilled when I found these. It makes me feel so much fresher, especially when I need to get off the plane and get going without a lot of time to primp.
Hand Cream
This hand cream is a splurge but SO worth it. It’s one of my favorite scents and I only need to use it once to keep my hands moisturized the entire flight.
Hand Sanitizer
For obvious reasons. This one is my favorite because it’s not too drying and the rose scent it SOOOO good.
